Transformation Tips Tuesday – My Personal Journey of Reiki Healing From Within by Reiki Master, Donna McDine

My Personal Journey of Healing From Within

For those of you whom have been following my personal journey of healing you know I am vocal about my chronic migraine experiences and healing. Recently, I experienced a blackout fall in my kitchen. While those closest to me know the details of this scary and mind blowing experience I had not thought of sharing this through my Energy of Serenity blog. Until my recent business coaching session with my coach, Nichole Beamer of Hip Hippie Life guided me in changing my thought process on writing about one of the scariest moments I have ever experienced.

Changing your thought process by sharing…

Nichole listened intently of what I refer to as one of the scariest moments of my life. As I finished sharing my intimate story, feelings and subsequent healing, Nichole without hesitation said, “you must share your experience through your Energy of Serenity practice. Your personal experience needs to be heard by others to awaken their healing within.”

Well here goes…

After a relaxing and enjoyable evening on June 20th spent with my hubby and daughters on our patio we retreated inside. Feeling peaceful and grateful for our time together as a family I the glorious night air I settled into bed and awoke in the middle of the night quite thirsty. I headed to the kitchen and as I stood at the sink the room began to spin and it became dark. The last thing I remember is holding on the edge of the kitchen counter and bringing myself to my knees. At that moment I thought I was safely on my knees, but some time later I woke face down on the tile floor. I was sweating profusely and as I tried to raise my head in attempt to get my bearings I immediately placed my left cheek back onto the floor thinking… “Ahhh, the coolness of the tile feels so good.” I am not sure how long I lay there or how long I was initially unconscious for and as I continued to lay there an overwhelming sense of “Donna you need to move closer to the bedroom stairs” resounded in my mind. Too scared to stand up I crawled to the opposite side of the kitchen toward the stairs to “call” for my husband and daughter’s help.

Help is provided…

As my husband helped me we became aware of the extent of my injuries… a swollen bloody nose, chipped front tooth and a large bump on my forehead above my right eye. My husband led me to our bedroom, propped me up on pillows and began icing my face. Within moments he carried me to the bathroom due to the nauseous feeling washing over me. I began throwing up and shaking uncontrollably.

Emergency Room Bound…

After being evaluated by the Emergency Room doctor by checking my heart, blood pressure and cognitive and physical reactions they labeled the incident syncope and sent me on my way.

Additional symptoms…

As the days progressed bruises on my shoulders, knees, nose, under my eyes and forehead began to appear along with a soreness of my ribs. The exhaustion from this blackout incident overwhelmed me often times leaving me in tears, which is highly unusual for me. We became increasingly concerned that the proper tests of a CT scan and x-rays were not conducted at the ER. We contacted out primary care physician and they saw me immediately. After listening intently to the impact of my fall they ordered a CT scan of my head and neck as well as x-rays of my shoulders and torso. Thankfully all tests results came back normal with no breaks or concern of the head.

Resounding message…

However, I allowed this traumatic blackout fall to let me spiral back into old habits of negativity and despair. Until during one of my meditation and journaling sessions as resounding message came through… “You have the power to heal from within with your Reiki healing abilities.” To say this was a light switch illuminating the way to my inner healing awareness is an understatement.

I shook my negativity off like a dog shaking off his wet fur for I was determined to not allow this fall to have me “falling into the dark hole of despair.”

Healing from within set in motion…

I immediately setup my Reiki meditation room as I would for a client whether in-person or distant by burning incense and candles and setting the intention of a healing of my highest good. As a Reiki Master Teacher I typically facilitate a self-Reiki treatment weekly on Wednesday’s as my form of self-care. I now found myself facilitating self-Reiki twice daily for 30-minutes each. The results were and continue to be outstanding. For all my bruises healed within 5 days and my bruised ribs fully healed within 7 days.

When I saw my primary doctor 5 days later, she was astounded by the healing as well as the dentist was when he repaired my chipped front tooth and had to spread my upper teeth to realign the teeth. I was in the dentist patient chair for 90 minutes and facilitated Reiki on myself the entire time. After the tooth repair was completed the dentist remarked, “In all my years of dentistry I have never had a patient lay so still without flinching.”

Reiki to the rescue…

My thought to myself was Reiki to the rescue yet again. For some reason, I did not tell the dentist about the Reiki healing and I headed home. No pain or discomfort was felt during or after the tooth repair and I highly attribute this outcome to the healing power of Reiki.

As much as this blackout fall incident was one of the scariest moments of my life I strongly feel that it was meant to happen to reaffirm to me that I am on the correct path of healing from within.
