In the midst of our turbulent times with COVID-19 now is more important than ever to calm the mind with self-care. Of course it’s important to stay informed with the ever- changing landscape of the coronavirus, but it is essential to your mental well being to turn off the news.
Take the time to read and nourish your brain and soul with guilt free time by immersing yourself into a book that takes you on a journey away from the chaos swirling globally. It doesn’t matter what type of book you enjoy reading, whether it be fantasy, romance novel, history, historical fiction, thriller, self-help, Do-It-Yourself books, the list is endless.
Once you disconnect from the media and enjoy reading something other than about COVID-19 you will find that your mind is clearer and relaxed. Much like the benefits of getting outside for a walk, jog or bike ride.
Yes, we need to adhere to social distancing (I much rather prefer physical distancing) and we can use this time wisely by turning off the TV and News and be kind to our brains with nourishing words.
