As I was running my Saturday morning errands during Labor Day Weekend, I was mulling over what I should write about for my self-care post. The word nap kept popping into my head and as I write my post the wonderful warm sun is shining forth through my office window warming my back and providing beautiful natural light.
I have always enjoyed naps, especially when I have the house to myself and all is quiet. After I completed my self-care tips post I’m looking forward to curling up on my bed with my favorite blanket and my chakra amulet created by anJoGiCo Custom Creations, resting on my chest.
I usually keep my naps to no more than 20-minutes which rejuvenates my energy so I’m not falling asleep too early when my hubby returns from work at 8 pm. Hence creating a far better enjoyable evening with my hubby so I’m not out cold snoring on the couch before 9 pm comes along.
According to WebMD the benefits of napping… “Napping isn’t just for babies. Studies show that an afternoon nap is great for adults, too. There’s no need to feel lazy for indulging in daytime sleep. A short nap in the mid-afternoon can boost memory, improve job performance, lift your mood, make you more alert, and ease stress. Cozy up to these nap benefits.”
Be kind to yourself and treat yourself to a 20-minute nap and enjoy your Saturday evening so much more. I’m off to do just that and I don’t feel guilty for it whatsoever.
I’d enjoy hearing about your napping habits and if you have any rituals that go along with it. Such as burning essential oils as you nap, a favorite blanket you curl up with, a lavender essential oil sleep mask, etc. Personally, I enjoy burning serenity essential oil and curling up with my favorite pink crocheted blanket my twin sister, Debbie, gave to me many years ago.
