Self-care Tips at Energy of Serenity with Reiki Master Teacher, Donna McDine ~ Epsom Salt Footbath

Self-care Tips at Energy of Serenity with Reiki Master Teacher, Donna McDine ~ Epsom Salt Footbath

Welcome to today’s edition of Self-Care Tips at Energy of Serenity.

Continued daily focus on self-care is as important as your daily hygiene routine.

My continued theme on self-care is it doesn’t have to be costly and often times you can keep it to the bare minimum of expense or no expense at all.

A terrific way to release toxins from your body is an Epsom salt bath or foot soak. It helps reduce pain, inflammation and irritation. It also helps sooth dry cracked skin and it is highly recommended that you moisture thoroughly after a bath or foot soak.

To setup your Epsom foot bath:

  • Fill a basin with warm water until it’s deep enough to cover your feet.
  • Add 1/2 cup of Epsom salt to the warm water.
  • Soak your feet for 30 to 60 minutes twice a week.
  • For an added treat, consider adding a few drops of diluted lavender, peppermint, or eucalyptus essential oil to your footbath. You can also purchase Epsom salt with lavender already in it.

Personally, I often use the LightClub Curiosity Shoppe’s Magical Bath Salts.

“Description:

Our oldest item and one of our best sellers, LightClub’s Magical Bath Salts are an amazing experience. They are specifically empowered with a healing spell and Reiki treatment to draw out extreme fatigue and soreness of the mind, body and spirit. Made with a multi-layered formula, these salts are designed to first invoke relaxation (recommended to use them in the bath before bedtime), and then full rejuvenation upon awakening the next day. Warning–you may want more than just one container! All salts come in 9 oz. containers and contain an essential oil blend in a carrier oil of organic jojoba oil which helps keeps the skin soft and smooth. Good for several baths.

Materials:

essential oils, sea salt, epsom salt, jojoba oil, castor oil, lavender, bergamot, grapefruit, rosewood”

Your feet will thank you with a peaceful night sleep after pampering your feet. Face it, our feet take a beating throughout the day and need to be taken care of.

Please share your experience with epsom salt baths and how it has benefited you.

Wishing you a pleasant toxin releasing soak.
